I have a need to give and I believe everyone has a need to give.  It is my belief that this need is hard-wired within every one of us and it is born out of gratitude for what we have received in our lives.

The "need to give" is nurtured most effectively as people gratefully come to the realization of how fortunate they are.

Giving based on gratitude acknowledges our inter-connectedness and the unearned nature of so much of what we have.  And the generosity from gratitude will exceed that motivated by responsibility, duty or obligation... hands down.

Lastly, I believe that no matter one's abilities or resources, that through one's actions every person can make the world a better place. For it is through these simple beliefs and actions that we will create a sustainable world.
